Virat Kohli to Step Down as India’s T20I Captain After 2021 T20 World Cup

Virat Kohli said that after the next T20 World Cup, he would stand down from India's T20 captain. In the next T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE, Kohli will lead Team India. The Team has been announced for the T20 Extravaganza. Kohli will direct the 15-member Indian team in their battle against Pakistan's arch-rivals.

 


India’s Squad for T20 World Cup are Virat Kohli (Capt), Rohit Sharma (VC), KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami. Standby players – Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar

 

Kohli also said that in the future he will be a batsman to the squad. He began the statement by thanking his players, support personnel, and the selection committee for their support as a captain.
