Senior journalist Kommineni Srinivasa Rao was arrested by Andhra Pradesh Police for making inappropriate comments about women during a TV discussion related to Amaravati. The arrest happened on Monday, i.e, June 9th, 2025, at his house located in the Journalist Colony of Hyderabad.
Police from Vijayawada reached Srinivasa Rao's house, took him into custody, and later informed the Jubilee Hills Police Station about the situation. After that, he was taken to Vijayawada for further legal proceedings. This arrest is based on a case registered at the Tullur Police Station in the Guntur district.
The complaint was officially submitted by Kambhampati Sirisha, the director of the State Media Corporation. In the same case, complaints have also been made against journalist Krishnam Raju and the management of Sakshi Media Group. The police have booked them under several legal sections including the Information Technology Act, the SC/ST prevention of Atrocities act and other relevant laws.
