Siruthai Siva wrote and directed Annaatthe, a Tamil action-drama film. Rajinikanth, Keerthi Suresh, and Nayantara appear on screen, which also has Meena and Khushbu Sundar in supporting parts. The plot focuses on panchayat president Kaalaiyan (Rajinikanth), who is affectionately known as Annaatthe by his peers, and his sister Thanga Meenatchi (Keerthi Suresh).

After completing her education in Kolkata, Meenatchi returns to the countryside. Kaalaiyan chooses to put Meenatchi in a match. When fate screws up with the marriage, the brother and sister become distant. Kaalaiyan later sets out to find her sister in Kolkata, where he sees her in real trouble.
