The show, directed by Sachin Pathak, begins as a narrative about the 1993 Bombay Blasts but has no significant link to the event. While an unjustly accused mafia struggles to clear his identity, a journalist seeks revenge for the death of a close friend.
The Kathmandu Connection is based on an investigation into the 1993 Bombay explosions. With the unexplained death of the investigating officer, the kidnapping of a hotelier, and the surveillance of a journalist, it uncovers new evidence, all leading to a phone number in Kathmandu, Nepal's capital.
DCP Samarth Kaushik, played by Amit Sial, is a brutal, no-nonsense police officer hired to investigate a significant mystery involving links to Kathmandu, Nepal's capital. Three additional incidents emerge as a result of the blasts. Sandip Garg (Vijit Singh), the explosions' investigating officer, is killed on March 25, Dharmendra Arora (Pratik Mehra), a well-known hotelier and businessman, is kidnapped on August 26, and Shivani Bhatnagar (Aksha Pardasany), a well-known journalist, is stalked.
When Kaushik looks up the phone numbers of the three people involved in the case, he notices that they all have the same country code. These bits of evidence lead him to Kathmandu, where he begins a fresh narrative on the other side of the border.
