The counting of votes cast in the Oct 30 bye-elections in the Huzurabad and Badvel Assembly seats in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, respectively, has been concluded. 86.33 percent of approximately 2.37 lakh people cast ballots in the highly contested by-election. The turnout in the poll was 2.5 percent higher than in 2018. In the by-election, 2,05,053 people out of 2,36,837 votes cast.

The by-election was scheduled when Rajender withdrew from the TRS and his MLA position on June 4 after being abruptly ousted from the Panel over allegations of his family's organization's stolen land.
