Kolkata Knight Riders beat Delhi Capitals by 3 wickets in a thrilling Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2021 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, owing to a stunning fifty by Venkatesh Iyer (55 off 41). The final, which will be staged at Dubai International Stadium on Friday, will pit KKR against Chennai Super Kings.
Kolkata Knight Riders were able to limit Delhi Capitals to 135/5 in 20 overs thanks to a flawless bowling effort by their bowlers. Shikhar Dhawan (36) and Shreyas Iyer (30*) were the highest scores for Delhi, while KKR's most successful bowler was Varun Chakaravarthy (2/26).
In pursuit of a total of 136 runs, Iyer scored his third fifty of the season, while Gill and Nitish Rana both contributed 46 and 13 runs, respectively, to assist the squad to go near to the finish line.
However, things took a dramatic turn when Gill was dismissed, and KKR fell to 130 for 7 when Rahul Tripathi kept his nerve and struck a six in the last over, guiding his team to win with one ball remaining.
