IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by 20 runs

 

At the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, Chennai Super Kings surprised defending champions Mumbai Indians in the first match of the second phase of this year's IPL. This achievement sent them to the top of the leaderboard.


Chennai overcame Mumbai by 20 runs thanks to Ruturaj Gaikwad's batting and spectacular bowling. The blue army scored 136/8.

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) removed Mumbai Indians' top wickets early in the opening game of the UAE-leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 after setting a target of 157 runs.

MI struggled in the middle without Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya, while the CSK pacers were excellent with the ball. Deepak Chahar took two wickets, with Dwayne Bravo, Josh Hazlewood, and Shardul Thakur each taking one.

After losing Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan in short succession, Hazlewood took the key wicket of Kieron Pollard for 15 runs.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost four top wickets after winning the toss in the opening game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021's UAE tour. CSK managed to score 156 runs despite losing six wickets. Gaikwad scored 88 runs in a thrilling inning, hitting nine fours and four sixes.

CSK is presently in first place in the IPL 2021 Points Table, with five victories and two losses before the season was called off.
