Riding high on confidence after the 2024 T20 World Cup win, Team India is all set to face Sri Lanka in 3 T20s and as many as ODIs. The T20 series will start on July 27 and end on July 30. All three matches will be held at Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium in Kandy. Most of the T20 World Cup squad will play the T20 series except for Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja, who announced their retirement from the shorter format of the game after the stunning World Cup win. Suryakumar Yadav will replace Rohit Sharma, and Shubhman Gill will don the vice-captain hat. Gautam Gambhir will begin his head coach formalities with this series. Sri Lanka appointed Charith Asalanka to lead the side after Wanindu Hasaranga got down from captaincy due to a disastrous performance in the T20 World Cup.

With Rohit Sharma at the helm, the ODI series commences from August 2 to August 7. R Premadasa International Stadium in Colombo will host the entire ODI series.
